It began with a song each morning
The year after my daughter Jody lost her battle with alcoholism, my son Cody became critically ill. For a time, we truly believed he might not survive.
Because an elective surgery had been postponed during the Covid years, his health steadily declined. By April, his liver and kidneys began to fail, and the weight of possibly losing another child felt unbearable.
Then a gentle realization settled into my heart: I still had time. I had time to send Cody a song each day — paired with a few words of encouragement and hope.
As friends and prayer teams lifted him up, Cody received a steady stream of God-inspired songs, seven days a week. Before long, a few of Cody's closest friends were added to the list. By August, his pacemaker was replaced, healing began, and the songs continued — far beyond what I had first imagined.
The following year, my husband and I both came down with a severe case of Covid. We were hospitalized in August, and for the first time, the songs stopped. Then the unexpected happened. My husband died.
As I fought for my own life during three long weeks in the ICU, one truth became clear: God was not finished with me yet. Now, more than ever, I was the one in desperate need of the very songs and messages I had once sent to others.
When I finally returned home, I scrolled back through Cody's collection. There, I found comfort, strength, and a way to survive the dark days that followed.
Soon, friends began asking when the songs and messages would resume. Feeling empty and unsure I had anything left to give, I moved forward by faith alone — knowing that if this was truly God's will, I would need His help every step of the way.
In 2024, Cody caught his first glimpse of Heaven. But the melody did not end.
Today, a growing list of people continues to receive these God-inspired messages — many of whom never knew Cody. Countless hearts are weighed down by challenges, grief, and unanswered questions. Yet God remains faithful, opening the heavens and raining down His blessings. Often, these messages are shared again and again, and for that, I am deeply grateful.
It is my prayer that as you read these words and listen to these songs, you too will be blessed as you discover God's Song Within.
