As I tuned in to Darren Hardy’s podcast one morning—just as I do most weekdays—I heard him ask a question that stopped me in my tracks: “Have you ever felt like your life doesn’t really matter? Like you’re just one tiny speck in a world of billions? Like your struggles don’t make any difference at all?”
Darren went on to say that believing this is one of the greatest lies we can fall for. And yet, if we’re honest, most of us have stood in that very place at one time or another.
We often chase big changes because we long to make a big impact. But more often than not, the greatest impact we will ever have unfolds quietly—in moments we didn’t plan, can’t predict, and sometimes never even see.
Scripture reminds us in Ephesians 2:10, “For we are God’s masterpiece.” Not a rough draft. Not an afterthought. A masterpiece—crafted intentionally by the hands of our Creator.
I once read an article in a medical journal that attempted to calculate the monetary value of the human body. When researchers added up the cost of enzymes, cells, tissues, organs, hormones—everything contained within a single person—they estimated the average human body to be worth about six million dollars.
Think about that. Your Heavenly Father invested six million dollars in you. And the best part? You didn’t pay a penny in taxes on that priceless asset.
People tend to see us the way we see ourselves. When we view ourselves as blessed, chosen, gifted, strong, and deeply valued, others often follow suit. Learning to appreciate who God created you to be opens the door to new levels of confidence, purpose, and favor.
And then there’s this thought—one so humbling it nearly takes your breath away. If Jesus had needed to suffer again because of your sin, He would have. That’s how personal God’s love is. That’s how much you matter to Him.
But praise God, when Jesus cried out, “It is finished,” He meant it. Once and for all, the price was paid. Once and for always, the sacrifice was complete. Jesus died for you—His beloved masterpiece.
Andrew Ripp captures this unfathomable mercy so beautifully in his song I’d Do It All Again:
“There’s no distance too far. No pain too great. There’s no grave too dark. No hell I won’t pay. The proof that it’s finished is here in my hands. I know I don’t have to, child, but oh—for you—I’d do it again.”
When doubt whispers that your life doesn’t matter, remember the cross—and remember the love that held Jesus there. You are not overlooked, forgotten, or insignificant. You are God’s masterpiece, fully known, deeply loved, and eternally worth it.
Today, choose to see yourself the way God sees you. Walk in confidence, speak with kindness, and let your life quietly reflect the truth that you are deeply loved, purposefully created, and eternally valued.
