Twice each week, my business friends and I gather together on Zoom. Recently, as we pursue a common goal, we've begun opening our meetings with powerful videos of lions.

As the lion roars across the screen and words of courage fill the meeting, something changes within us. Our confidence grows. Our determination rises. We feel ready to face whatever lies ahead.

It's no surprise. Experts tell us that lions symbolize courage, resilience, and confident leadership. They inspire a sense of awe that lifts our thoughts above everyday worries and reminds us that we are capable of more than we imagined.

As I watched recently, my mind drifted to Someone even greater.

When we focus on the sacrifice Jesus made for each one of us, our perspective changes in the same way. Fear loses its grip. Hope replaces doubt. Strength rises where weakness once lived.

Scripture often uses the image of a lion to describe God's power and authority. His presence is majestic, fearless, and unwavering. He doesn't tremble before the darkness—He overcomes it.

Jesus Himself is called the Lion of Judah. "Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed." — Revelation 5:5

And Hosea paints another beautiful picture: "They shall follow the Lord; He will roar like a lion. When He roars, His children shall come trembling from the west." — Hosea 11:10

That's why today's song Not For An Hour touched my heart so deeply: "Because of Christ, it is finished. It is done. We stand free. The war is won. We live because of the Son."

What if the courage you've been searching for isn't something you have to create, but something you receive from the One who has already won the victory?

And what might change in your life today if, instead of listening to the voice of fear, you listened for the roar of the Lion of Judah?

Closing Prayer Lord, thank You that our victory does not depend on our own strength but on Yours. When fear whispers, remind us that the Lion of Judah has already overcome the world. Fill our hearts with courage, our minds with peace, and our lives with unwavering faith. May we walk boldly because of the Son. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
