As I sit here at the Missoula Airport, waiting for my flight to Phoenix, I find myself people-watching.

Everyone seems caught up in their own swirl of movement—coffee runs, phone calls, boarding announcements. It made me wonder: Would anything change if Jesus walked in? Would anyone even notice?

That same question once weighed heavy on a man named Jairus. His story unfolds in Luke 8:40–56.

Jairus’ twelve-year-old daughter was dying, and in desperation, he begged Jesus to come to his home. Deep in his soul, Jairus believed one thing—if Jesus walked in, everything would change. Scripture confirms this hope.

Because in 2 Corinthians 5:17, we’re told, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

But in our human frailty, we sometimes doubt. We wonder if Jesus showing up would make any difference. We feel like it’s too late—our situation too broken, too far gone.

Jairus faced this very reality. Jesus got delayed, and messengers came with grim news: “Don’t bother the Teacher anymore—your daughter is dead.” But Jesus kept walking.

And when He arrived, He told the mourners to leave. He wasn’t shaken by the atmosphere of grief. He simply said to the little girl, “Arise.” And she did.

Are there doubters in your life—people who assure you things will never change? Maybe even your own heart whispers that Jesus won’t show up this time. But the truth remains: when Jesus walks in, everything changes.

Joseph Habedank and Chris Blue captured this truth in a song titled “Jesus Walked In.”

Habedank’s testimony is one of redemption—he was delivered from addiction by the grace of God, and his music reflects a powerful transformation. In his lyrics, he reminds us: “When He’s in the room, nothing’s the same.”

So wherever you are—an airport gate, a hospital room, or a quiet moment of heartache—remember this: Jesus still walks in. And when He does, the impossible becomes possible.

The atmosphere shifts, hope is restored, and what was once lost can be brought back to life. Let your heart be ready—because when Jesus walks in, everything changes.
